Stowe Mountain Resort, Vermont

Description

Stowe Mountain Resort occupies the flanks of Mount Mansfield — Vermont's highest summit — and has defined eastern skiing for nearly a hundred years. With 2,360 vertical feet, 116 trails, and terrain that spans from welcoming beginner slopes to some of the most demanding expert runs in the Northeast, Stowe sets the standard against which all other New England ski destinations are measured.

The Front Four — Starr, National, Lift Line, and Goat — are among the most storied expert runs in American skiing. Steep, sustained, and unforgiving, they have challenged and inspired generations of eastern skiers. The Gondola Peak area on the main mountain adds alpine terrain and views, while Spruce Peak across the valley provides excellent family and intermediate skiing with its own village and gondola access.

The Spruce Peak village at the base combines European alpine character with Vermont warmth — slope-side lodging at the Lodge at Spruce Peak, independent restaurants, a spa, and boutique shopping create an arrival and après experience that rivals any mountain village in the country. The town of Stowe nearby adds its own layer of New England character: covered bridges, craft breweries, fine dining, and a community that has welcomed skiers for generations.
