Loveland Ski Area, Colorado
Description
Loveland Ski Area sits on and above the Continental Divide on Colorado's Front Range, about 53 miles west of Denver. Straddling two sides of the divide — Loveland Valley for beginners and Loveland Basin for the full mountain — the resort reaches 13,010 feet at its peak, ensuring excellent snow quality and a long season.
Expert terrain dominates the upper mountain: above-treeline bowls, steep chutes, and high-alpine runs that open during peak season deliver serious challenge for advanced skiers. The Basin side also features solid intermediate and beginner terrain, making Loveland accessible for all levels. Groomed runs on the Valley side provide ideal conditions for newer skiers and families.
Loveland's greatest asset beyond the terrain is what it doesn't have: the elaborate village, the resort infrastructure, and the associated crowds of larger Colorado destinations. The result is shorter lift lines, genuine locals, and a focus on skiing over experience curation — which is exactly what many Colorado skiers are looking for.
