Big Sky Resort, Montana

Description

Big Sky Resort rises above the Gallatin Canyon in Montana, about an hour south of Bozeman. The resort is built around two distinct peaks — Lone Mountain and Andesite Mountain — which together provide an exceptional range of terrain. At the top, Lone Mountain's 11,166-foot summit delivers some of the most dramatic above-treeline skiing in the country, accessible via the Lone Peak Tram and the Lone Peak Triple.

Big Sky's lift network — including Ramcharger 8, Swift Current Express, Thunder Wolf Express, and the Explorer lift — accesses terrain for every ability. Beginners and intermediates thrive on the groomed cruisers and bowl skiing of Andesite Mountain, while advanced skiers push into the expert chutes of Lone Peak, the Liberty Bowl, and the challenging hike-to terrain near the summit.

The Mountain Village base area anchors the resort with lodging, dining, and amenities. Navigate the full mountain with the Big Sky Mountain Map app, your companion for interactive trail maps and real-time lift status.
