Vail Ski Resort,
Description
Vail Ski Resort is one of the largest and most celebrated ski destinations in the world, stretching across more than 5,300 acres of terrain in the Colorado Rockies. The mountain is divided into three distinct experiences: the groomed front-side accessed from Vail Village and Lionshead, the expansive back bowls, and the gladed terrain of Blue Sky Basin.
The front side features a broad mix of beginner and intermediate terrain — long, winding runs like Gitalong Road, Simba, and Born Free are perfect for building confidence and exploring the mountain. Advanced skiers will find challenge on runs like Highline, Blue Ox, and Roger's Run, while experts gravitate toward Prima Cornice, the steep chutes off the front face, and the demanding bowl terrain.
The back bowls — China Bowl, Tea Cup Bowl, Mongolia Bowl, Siberia Bowl, and more — offer wide-open, largely ungroomed terrain that's a revelation on a powder day. Blue Sky Basin provides a more intimate, tree-lined experience with glades like Poppyfields and Orient Express winding through old-growth forest.
